![]() Chabad of Hewlett inaugurated its first Chanukah in Hewlett with two community-wide events that were as warm and enlightening as the candles of the menorah themselves.
candle-lighting event at Grant Park. For some Hewlett residents it was their first time celebrating the holiday of Chanukah. Everyone had a great time as they made Chanukah crafts and played dreidel. The crowd was captivated as the professional ice sculptor, Mark, carved a grand five-foot menorah completely out of ice, which Rabbi Nochem Tenenboim lit, spreading the warmth of Chanukah to the whole town.
