Opening the NEW building in a moving ceremony |
One day before Rosh Hashanah the group of building donors gathered together for the uplifting ceremony of mezuzahs installation. With help from the almighty and support from the community we were able to open the doors for the holidays. It's a miracle to be able to serve the entire Hewlett community.
The building still needs approximately $2 million in donations to complete the finishing touches. Then we are going to celebrate the GRAND opening. |
|
| Unprecedented participation! |
A record breaking number of people joined together this year for the exciting Rosh Hashanah services. There was singing, jokes, inspiring sermons and delicious lunches. The many different options, the inspiration and joy, the kids program and Tashlich services in both Grant park and the Duck pond were definitely historical and will inspire people for the entire year. What a powerful start to 5786!
The resolution is to come once a month for Shabbat at Chabad. Hundreds of people stood up and made this resolution. |

Over a thousand "Chabadniks"! |
It’s hard to put into words just how inspiring, powerful and uplifting this Yom Kippur was.
From the very first Kol Nidrei to the final blast of the shofar at the end of Neila, every moment was filled with meaning. The heartfelt sermons stirred our souls, calling us to reconnect, recommit and proudly “Be A Chabadnik.” The Yizkor service was deeply moving, and the energy throughout, pure Jewish pride and unity, was electric.
And then came the Shema. As the entire congregation cried out in unison, the room transcended time and space. It was otherworldly. A moment we’ll carry with us all year long. |
