Chabad Of Hewlett Begins The New Year With A Blast

The Five Towns Jewish Times  Thursday, 03 November 2011

Nearly 100 people made Chabad of Hewett their Jewish home this year. On Rosh Hashanah, they enjoyed a delicious kiddush following all services. On Motzaei Yom Kippur, they shared in a delicious “break fast.” Services took place in the beautiful and spacious office space of Commece Processing, thanks to Michael Mendlowitz’s generosity and hospitality.

The atmosphere was warm and friendly and everyone enjoyed. Rabbi Tenenboim gave introductions and explanations of the tefillos. For some it was their first time celebrating the High Holidays in a synagogue and for everyone it was enjoyable and inspiring and a meaningful way to start the new year.

Simchas Torah Chabad style was celebrated this year for the first time in Hewlett! Every child received their very own stuffed Torah to dance with, while the adults danced with the Torah. Song, dance, and fun in celebrating the Torah were the themes of the day. The celebrations were completed with a lavish kiddush.
