...Earlier in the day, the newly formed Chabad of the Five Towns Hewlett division invited members of the community and friends to enjoy their first Lag B’Omer barbecue to meet their neighbors in Hewlett. They had over 100 people from a diverse crowd and everyone enjoyed.

The Tenenboims felt warmly welcomed by the surprisingly large crowd. They felt it was so wonderful to be part of such an incredible community, and they hope that Chabad of Hewlett will be able to live up to the expectations of the people here. They are glad that they got to meet so many people and look forward to having more community events together.

The Tenenboims were also honored by the presence of Rabbi Tuvia Teldon, regional director of Chabad on Long Island, and Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, director of Chabad of the Five Towns.

The evening featured an exciting program for the children run by devoted volunteers Tziporah and Jacob Raff and Aliza Veroba. The children had a wonderful time as they were kept entertained with lots of fun outdoor activities, allowing their parents to enjoy a pleasant time with delicious food right off the grill.

Participants were happy to fill out a survey to express what they want to find in the new Chabad center. The Tenenboims hope to be able to enhance the community in areas that people are interested in. Rebbetzin Tenenboim notes that when the Lubavitcher Rebbe sent out his first shluchim to Morocco, he told them that they were going to enhance the already existing Jewish community.

The Tenenboims especially thank Rabbi and Rebbetzin Wolowik and Rabbi and Rebbetzin Geisinsky for their incredible help and guidance in planning for this event and for Chabad programs in general...
